Introduction
For a range of reasons, you may wonder whether a SalesWings lead that you see in the cockpit has also been created in Salesforce as a lead or contact record.
For example:
You're seeing unassigned leads in SalesWings and may wonder why they have not been matched to a Salesforce lead/contact owner.
You feel that while Saleswings is capturing leads from web forms, they may accidentially not have been created in Salesforce by another process of your workflow (outside of SalesWings' scope)
You are seeing leads in SalesWings that do not have a Salesforce icon and link to a corresponding Salesforce record.
Things to consider
SalesWings-Salesforce API connection
In order for SalesWings to match a SalesWings lead inside the cockpit with a Salesforce record, the API connection to Salesforce has to be active.
Otherwise, we are unable to look up corresponding records.
Matching SalesWings users
SalesWings only assigns leads inside the cockpit to a user (owner) if there is a matching SalesWings user to the Salesforce lead/contact owner, meaning, a user with the same email address.
Otherwise, we are unable to sync lead/contact owners.
How to find out whether there's a missing Salesforce record
A) Inside SalesWings
All SalesWings leads are visible to every SalesWings ADMIN user in SalesWings. While you can't filter the ones without a Salesforce connection out, by scrolling down as an admin, you'll see them.
B) In Salesforce
In Salesforce you can create a report from our "Prospects" object. By using a cross-filter, you can identify those prospects that are not matched with a lead or contact (see below, and note while it filters out leads, it covers contacts as well).
Important to remember is that when an entirely new SalesWINGS lead is sent over to Salesforce, it may take a few minutes for it to be matched to a Salesforce lead or contact.
C) In Salesforce Marketing Cloud
Our main data extension has a column where we send the Salesforce record ID that we receive from Salesforce to. When it's empty, we can assume that there was no match.
